Joy in Moments of Transformation.

I'm Sam, the founder of SAMade.

I've always been making something. My stylish, well-travelled grandmothers taught me to sew before I even started school, and I've hardly been without a project since.

Creating has followed me everywhere. Through elite sport, overseas adventures and everyday life, I've always found myself drawn to making, mending and reimagining things.

Competing at the Olympics taught me discipline and attention to detail. Riding a motorcycle from the UK to Kazakhstan reinforced my appreciation for well-designed objects that are built to last. Looking back, both experiences shaped the way I approach design more than I realised at the time.

Today, I work with reclaimed, surplus and discarded materials because I love discovering what else they can become. I collaborate with individuals, businesses and organisations to create one-of-a-kind commissions and limited-run collections. Every piece is designed to be used and made to last.

The most rewarding part is still the moment when everything comes together. That "ta-da!" moment when an idea finds its form.

If you've got an idea you'd like to explore, I'd love to hear from you.
